Kelly Clarkson is headed back to "American Idol," but she won't be taking the stage alone. The first-season winner will perform a duet of "Don't You Wanna Stay" with country singer Jason Aldean on Thursday's results show.
The duo first sang together at the Country Music Awards in November, and the song later went to No. 1 on the Billboard country music charts.
So is Kelly a country girl now? Not quite. The singer just finished her new album, delayed until September, and says it is "influenced by Prince, Tina Turner, Sheryl Crow, Radiohead and there's a little bit of a country vibe/influence on a couple of songs."
The star also treated fans to a medley of her greatest hits, including verses from "Miss Independent" and "Since U Been Gone," when she stopped by the "The Ellen Degeneres Show" last week.
Clarkson and Aldean aren't the only special guests coming up next on "Idol": Rihanna will also make an appearance.(source)
